how to take care of your casual ceramics

ceramics are tough creatures, lasting many lifetimes in museums, buried in tombs or just ordinarily hiding in your grandma’s cupboard.

our ceramics on the other hand like to be part of your everyday rituals, so things can happen - turmeric latte can leave a stain, cat will run amok, clumsy hands before first coffee. life happens, but don’t be discouraged and get in touch with me if a lifespan of your casual piece will be cut short. i might have a fix-it solution or pick-me-up offer. nonetheless below you will find the most common rules of engagement:

1_ our tableware is safe in a dishwasher, but hand washing is always the best for any hand made item

2_ unglazed surfaces can be stained, but nothing a mixture of baking soda with dish soap and a scrub cannot fix

3_ also unglazed surfaces can be stained with greasy marks, so the solution would be to rub the whole surface with food safe oil (chopping board oil f.e.), wait a few minutes and then clean with soap and warm water

4_ our raw dinnerware set is sealed with natural nano quartz that is food safe and the surface shouldn’t get stained

5_ all the pieces are microwave/oven safe if there is no gold/luster on them

6_ also no gold/luster in the dishwasher, please

7_ thermal shock and glaze cracking is a thing, so let the boiling water settle before pouring into a cup and make sure that a piece isn’t too cold to touch (then preheating with tap water required)

8_ cracked/crackled glaze is safe to use, but dishwasher cleaning is recommended

9_ enjoy your pieces with care and use appropriately
